Environments

Available Environments

The Westpay Online API is available in two environments: Demo and Production.

Environment	Base URL	Purpose
Demo	https://demo-api.westpay.se/in-store/api/v1	Development and testing
Production	https://api.westpay.se/in-store/api/v1	Live transactions

Demo Environment

The demo environment is intended for integration development and testing. It mirrors the production API but does not process real payments. Use the demo environment to:

• Test your integration end-to-end.
• Verify request/response formats.
• Simulate different transaction scenarios.

Demo credentials are separate from production credentials. Contact Westpay support to provision demo access.

Production Environment

The production environment processes real transactions. Before switching to production:

• Ensure your integration has been fully tested in the demo environment.
• Rotate your credentials — do not reuse demo keys in production.
• Review the Error Handling guide to handle edge cases gracefully.

You can use the Swagger UI to explore available endpoints and try out requests directly in your browser.
